I didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions this year. One of the resolutions I didn’t make would have nothing to do with blogging more. So this blog entry is completely unrelated to any type of self -improvement for the New Year. Nope, none at all.
Out of all the types of good intentions out there, New Year’s resolutions just seem to be destined for failure or worse, dull repetition. I suppose it’s the fact that it feels like you are making plans for a full year and on a good day I can barely commit to my daily to do list. Years ago I dutifully did my yearly review, making the same times of plans we all make: floss more, exercise more, write thank you notes, stress less, be a better person, try new things yada, yada, blah, blah. I’d probably do well just to laminate it and pencil in a new date every 12 months. That list grows every year like Marley’s chain. I swear I can feel the weight of the thing behind me cataloguing all my sins of years past.
So no resolutions here – I finally just decided I might have something to say.
I agree wholeheartedly.
Maybe resolve not to have resolutions will do the trick???
